For a long time the possibilities of birding and wildlife watching in Vietnam have been largely ignored. It has one of the richest avifaunas of any south-east Asian country and is home to some of south-east Asia’s rarest birds and animals. Around 916 species of bird have been recorded (depending on the taxonomy you follow). 19 of these are considered endemics and a further 27 are near endemics. It has a good network of national parks many of which are well equipped with hides and walking tracks.

We fly into Hanoi and start by exploring Cuc Phuong, Mu Cang Chai, Phia Oac-Phia Den. We then fly south to Pleiku and visit Ngoc Linh, Mang Den, Yokdon, Da Lat, Deo Nui San, Cat Tien and Go Cong. After 26 days birding we head to Ho Chi Minh City and our flight out. The aim of this tour is to see as many birds as possible and to see them well.
